DMO, the DEEG-ROOR MEDICAL ORGANIZATION, is non-profit institution that was established in September 10th 1996 by group of indigenous /intellectual group from Bay region. The impetus behind its foundations rests on assisting the most vulnerable community sections physically and otherwise: Women and Children through health and nutrition services provisions systematically and sufficient ways. DMO since its inception help international organization especially those concern on areas of mother and child welfare developments through partnerships in program implementation as well as technical and information sharing.
Today, the rapidly increasing civil society organizations in Somalia have been playing an active role in closing the gap in Humanitarian Assistance, However, they too often operate hardship area and there is an increasing call for planning to prevent another crisis and establish a solid foundation for sustainable public services and new economic growth.
DMO is committed to bringing together the best national professionals who are capable to help CSOs by providing a host of organizational development services, including on-the job trainings, consultancy, and technical assistance suitable to the Somali environment – at lower cost.
DMO intends seeking financial support from various sources, including contributions from the Somali SCOs and program funding from the international development agencies operating in Somalia/Somaliland. Currently, we get assistance from UNICEF/WVI/WFP/OFDA.
