Deegroor Medical Organization (DMO) has been implementing the essential components of Basic nutrition service package for Somalia(BNSP); namely Integrated management of acute malnutrition (IMAM), Promotion/support for optimal infant and young child feeding, Immunization for vaccine preventable diseases, Prevention and control of worm infestations, Promotion of home based food fortification and enrichment, Promotion and support for optimal maternal nutrition, Management of common child illness(IMCI/CCM), Prevention and control of micro nutrient deficiency disorders and Monitoring and evaluation supportive supervision, referral and surveillance for 8 OTP sites in Baidoa of whom two fixed facilities and 6 outreach sitesDuring week3, DMO Moqor Imaayow OTP fixed facility admitted as new cases for atotal of 13 under five children of severe acute malnutrition without complications, while they screened for atotal of 62 new cases. Meanwhile, all of the care takers were educated on key messages for management of malnutrition as well as IYCF /NHHP counseling.
