DMO -OTPS

This Programme helps and targeted the vulnerable groups especially under five children those effect severe malnutrition without complications. As this programme operates 8 sites currently which are : Horseed facility fixed site and the rest 7  are outreach sites, those supported by UNICEF, and  implemented DMO.Horseed facility is one of the fixed site that is integrated to the other nutrition and health projects running  Under nutrition sector , DMO continues to implement the 9 components of  Basic Nutrition Service Package(BNSFP),namely: Integrated management of acute malnutrition(IMAM) (BNSFP component1)  Treatments of common nutritional conditions i.e. anemia and supplementation of vitamin A ironfolate,  therapeutic zinc with ORS for diarrhea through fixed OTP and MCH (BNSP component 2)  Treatment of common child illness including pneumonia, Diarrheas (BNSP component 3)   The Prevention and promotive services may include: Deworming for all children 12- 59 months (BNSP component 4),  Counseling and promotion on infant and young child feeding (IYCF) (BNSP component 5)  Multiple micronutrient supplementations for both PLW, and Vitamin A supplementation for children aged6-59 months and single high dose for postpartum mothers  (BNSP component 6). Carefully targeted micronutrient powder for home based food fortification targeted 6-23months in 21 satellite villages around Baidoa where low nutrient diet intake is commonly reported black cotton soil zone (BNSP component 7) improve Capacity development of nutrition staff for effective service delivery, proper management and community mobilization , reporting , M&E indicators , surveillance and referral (BNSP component 8)  Routine immunization services for children 0-60 months and PLW in project sites (BNSP component 9).
