DMO is currently running in Baidoa district eight OTP sites of which six sites are outreach and two fixed sites namely (Horseed health centre and Moqor I Mayo). Moqor I maayo fixed site is running day today activities as they provide nutrition prevention and promotion services such nutrition and hygiene education, therapeutic zinc for diarrhea, Deworming, Vitamin A supplementation for children aged 6-59 months; as well as referral of SAM with complication cases and MAM cases to the nearest sites operating nutrition services in the area.During July 2019, Moqor I maayo was admitted as new cases 89 severe acute malnutrition without medical complications and provided ready to use therapeutic feeding foods for both old cases and new cases accordingly their weight. Mean while 57 discharged as cured and 4 cases of severe acute malnutrition with complications transferred to Bay regional hospital.Ina addition to that, Weekly IYCF facility-based education sessions were conducted for caregivers of pregnancy and lactating women as well as women with child bearing age, in order to enhance positive behavior change on infant and young child feeding practices.The topics focused in the sessions on the IYCF core components including; initiation of breastfeeding within the first hour of birth, exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months in the infants’ life and continuation of breastfeeding for two years and beyond.
