Today 23rd July 2018, DMO TSFP/BSFP

teams were screening and distributing Plumpy Doz in Alfurqaan and Idaale One FPD. The two teams screened more than 500 children under the age of two and were issuing them 1.5kg of Plumpy Doz which is 30 sachets to whoever meets their criteria. The 30 sachets planned to each child to be given one sachet per day to prevent the child from meeting malnutrition.

On the other hand, OTP teams were screening and distributing Plumpy Nut to children under the age of five to cure acute malnutrition.

In BSFP the age is to decide whether the child will meet the criteria or not since it was meant to prevent malnutrition but in the OTP the age as well as the MUAC of the child would decide whether will meet the criteria or not.

Cooperation between the SFP and OTP teams was highly adhered in both teams and working together in terms of referrals and transfers etc.

Regards,

Hassan Ali Daud.
